The Uttar Pradesh Government through the Women & Child Development Department (WCD) has released the Anganwadi Bharti 2026 notification for 61,601 posts of Anganwadi Worker (AWW) and Anganwadi Helper (AWH) under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme. This is the SINGLE LARGEST recruitment in 2026 by number of posts. Anganwadi centres operate in villages and urban wards across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Anganwadi Workers and Helpers are the backbone of India's child nutrition, health, and early education system. They run local Anganwadi centres providing supplementary nutrition, pre-school education, immunisation, health checkup, and nutrition & health education to children (0–6 years), pregnant women, and lactating mothers under the ICDS programme. LOCAL RESIDENCY IS MANDATORY — candidates must belong to the same village/ward where the vacancy exists.
